Medical Waste Pyrolysis Project

Medical waste pyrolysis is an effective technical means to treat medical waste. The pyrolysis plant converts medical waste into pyrolysis oil, carbon black and synthesis gas. Pyrolysis technology greatly reduces the production of harmful substances such as dioxins through anaerobic or anoxic conditions. The special purification system can effectively purify the flue gas generated during the pyrolysis process, reducing the risk of pollution to the air, soil and water sources.

The high-temperature pyrolysis process can effectively kill various pathogens, bacteria, viruses, etc. contained in medical waste. It ensures that the treated products meet the harmless standards and avoid the risk of disease transmission.

The combustible gas and pyrolysis oil produced during the pyrolysis of medical waste have a certain calorific value. They can be recycled as energy for power generation and heating to achieve the reduction and resource utilization of medical waste.

 

What is the Pyrolysis Medical Waste Cost?

The cost of pyrolysis of medical waste is affected by many factors, including pyrolysis plant cost, operation and maintenance costs. The following is a rough analysis of the pyrolysis medical waste cost.

Investment cost of pyrolysis plant: Small pyrolysis plant with low processing capacity may only cost tens of thousands of dollars. However, large-scale commercial pyrolysis equipment with large processing capacity may cost millions of dollars. For example, a pyrolysis plant with 10-15T/D processing capacity may cost around 2 million to 5 million US dollars.

Operating costs: including labor costs, energy consumption, consumables replacement and maintenance.
  • Labor costs vary depending on the degree of automation of the equipment and the operating shifts. Generally speaking, small pyrolysis equipment may only require a small number of operators, and the daily labor cost is around a few hundred dollars. Large equipment requires a professional operation team, including operators, technicians, and managers. The daily labor cost may reach thousands of dollars.
  • The pyrolysis process consumes a lot of energy to maintain a high temperature environment. Taking natural gas-fueled pyrolysis equipment as an example, the natural gas consumption cost for processing each ton of medical waste may be around $50-150. If it is heated by electricity, the cost may be higher, and the electricity consumption cost per ton of waste may be around $80-200.
  • Some components in the pyrolysis equipment, such as heating elements, lining materials, and filters, need to be replaced regularly. The cost of these consumables may range from tens of thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. It depends on the size of the equipment and the frequency of use.
  • Regularly maintain the equipment, including equipment inspection, troubleshooting, lubrication maintenance, etc., to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. Maintenance costs may be around 5% - 10% of the equipment investment cost per year.
